is recognized as probably the greatest of all Luciferians – ‘Light Bearers’ of our human history, tribute is paid to him today here. My hope for today, therefore, is that I can explain to you through this text:
To be a Luciferian, is to be a Nietzschean!
Nietzsche is rememered most commonly for his declaration that “God is dead” and for the rejection of religious morality. Born in 1844 in the small town of Röcken, near Leipzig, in the Prussian Province of Saxony, Nietzsche attended a boys school before commencing his studies in theology and classical philology at the University of Bonn.Despite never receiving his doctorate, he was appointed the position of Chair of Classical Philology at the University of Basel aged just 24.
Among his most famous ideas are the Apollonian/ Dionysian dichotomy, the ‘will to power’, ‘the eternal re-occurance’, and the ‘death of God’. His essays often questioned the value and objectivity of truth itself, And most imporatnly, the harmful effect he believed the Christian faith had on society.
Nietzsche’s most influential works include Beyond Good and Evil, The Birth of Tragedy and The Will to Power.
He suffered a breakdown in 1889 having struggled with mental health issues later in life. It has been speculated that this could have been caused by the syphalis bacterium. He was placed under the care of his mother and subsequently his sister Elisabeth Förster-Nietzsche, who assumed the role of curator of his manuscripts. He died in 1900.
It is a grievous misconception that Nietzsche had anything to do with the Nazis, was a fascist or antisemitic. After his death, his sister passed all his notes and unpublished papers to the early National Socialist Party. The subsequent use and misinterpretation of his work by that party of ideas such as ‘The Will To Power’, is now well known. For those conscientious Nietzsche readers, such a micsonception can be reduced to a grotesque stereotype of the man and his meaning.
For you, the members of The Luciferian Society, it is of upmost importance that you percieve why Nietzsche is the greatest of all Luciferians, and why it is that to be a Luciferian, is to be a Nietzschean, no matter what else you may believe about life, or the after life.
Nietzsche is recognised as the Father of the C20th. All freedoms of subjectivity and expression that you have today are a result of his work. This is because the Post Modern movement, which questioned moral and social axioms that had been fixed for centuries, occurred directly because of Nietzsche.
” I teach you the Overman. Man is something that will be overcome. What have you done to overcome him?…The time has come to plant the seed of our highest hope.”
From the groundbreaking book ‘Thus Spake Zarathustra’ (Chapter 7)
